Ostrich

Is an open plains species, with very very good eye sight.

It avoids any cover even short bushes, so it has a total view of its surrounds for safety.

Live in good size herds from 7 - 30 animals in a herd. Big Males sometimes are alone.

They like to run from any threat and are fast.

Females weigh 150 - 200 pounds and Males up to 300 pounds.

Shots are mostly 200-350 yds.

Eat grass and bushes only  -  vegetation only , and need water, so they can survive without water.

This is a tough animal to hunt to get near enough for a shot.
